iGA Licenses & Frequencies Directorate Supports the Formula 1

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) - presented by the Wireless Licensing, Frequency & Monitoring Directorate – provided its annual support to the international race ‘2018 Formula 1 Gulf Air - Bahrain Grand Prix’.


On such occasion; iGA Wireless Licensing, Frequency & Monitoring Director Eng. Hassan Mohamed Hassan stated that the Authority provides its support through an integrated technical team fully equipped with the most up-to-date monitoring devices in order to manage the frequency spectrums for the race from all aspects. He further added that the team managed the coordination of around 460 frequencies for the communication systems taking part in the race as well as accompanied activities.

Eng. Hassan continued that the Formula 1 Race is considered as one of the international events proudly hosted and organized by the Kingdom every year. The Authority is also proud of taking part in such event through previous coordination by receiving requests to allocate frequencies and provide the technical support in the circuit before and during the thrilling race in a smooth mechanism without any obstacles.

It is worth noting that the directorate provides technical support through the radio communication system department for the Formula 1 event since its launch in 2004; alongside a number of events including the Bahrain International Airshow, WEC Bapco 6 Hours of Bahrain together with other significant events.
