Ministerial Panel Discusses eTransformation in Public Sector

Held under the patronage of H.H. Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa - Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information & Communication Technology – the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2018 taking place on 7th & 8th October will include ‘eTransformation in Public Sector’ ministerial panel discussion during the first day of the Forum. The panel involves the participation of H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa - Minister of Justice & Islamic Affairs - along with H.E. Mr. Zayed bin Rashed AlZayani - Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

The panel involves the participation of H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa - Minister of Justice & Islamic Affairs - along with H.E. Mr. Zayed bin Rashed AlZayani - Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

The Panel will be followed by a related eTransformation sessions delivered by international experts from the United Kingdom represented by Government Digital Service Cabinet Office Director Dr. Chris Ferguson, from UAE Deputy General Manager, Information & EGovernment Sector Salem AlHoseni, together with Oman’s Information Technology Authority Acting Director General of eServices Mr. Ibrahim Talib AlWardi. The Panel will address public entities experiences in the digital transformation in various entities in the country along with the positive impact of employing technology to improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness in government service. This contributes in achieving rapid and comprehensive digital transformation.

In this regard, Mr. AlQaed stated that adapting technology to support Bahrain’s efforts in the eTransformation field and its sustainability in all entities, its fruitful outcomes are seen today in several sectors and has certainly contributed in speeding the process of eTransformation in the country. He further added that this year, the Authority is keen on dedicating part of the forum to highlight public entities which made a significant progress within the eTransformation field. Such entities comprise the Ministries of Justice & Islamic Affairs as well as Industry, Commerce and Tourism respectively. The Chief Executive continued that eTransformation requires understanding necessary changes to successfully implement the process and enter a new era of faster, better-performing performance for the public in terms of businesses and processes.
