Following the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to implement remote work when possible, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) is assisting all government entities with their transition to remote work.

The iGA will provide access to Microsoft Teams, a unified communication and collaboration platform, to effectively manage virtual teams, alongside publishing instructions to optimise the use of all features, including visual and audio conferencing, chats, and a file-sharing.

The iGA will also provide remote employees with access to the Government Data Network (GDN) via remote Secure Socket Layer Virtual Private Network (SSL VPN), which safeguards against security threats.

iGA Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed commended the directives of HRH the Crown Prince, saying: “These decisions are in the context of the extraordinary circumstances that the Kingdom and the rest of the world are going through. The vision and decisiveness shown by HRH the Crown Prince reflect a commitment to safeguarding the health of all government employees.”

Al Qaed added: “The iGA utalises advanced technologies to ensure the continuity of workflow and service delivery excellence."
