Al Qaed highlighted the significant contributions of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King. He said: “The Supreme Council for Women plays an essential role in supporting the advancement of Bahraini women, protecting their achievements, and expanding their presence across sectors. Its comprehensive set of policies and national initiatives has helped reinforce equal opportunity and balanced gender partnerships.”
Marking Bahraini Women’s Day, he emphasized the outstanding role of women working in the ICT sector. “Women are leaders in managing major national digital transformation and telecommunication projects, efforts that have contributed to Bahrain’s digital leadership and improve its global rankings.”
Al Qaed congratulated all women working in the ICT sector, and those at the iGA in particular, praising their contributions to many innovative digital and technical projects. According to current statistics, women at iGA hold 57% of leadership positions, which has a total of 415 employees, with women making up 52% of the workforce.
Al Qaed reaffirmed the continued commitment to supporting the advancement of Bahraini women and strengthening their role as essential partners in sustainable development. He said this commitment aligns with the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women (2025-2026) and reflects the strong progress women have achieved across all sectors.
