iGA Conducts a Training Workshop to Employees of NSSA

iGA had signed an MOU with NSSA, to build an informatics infrastructure that supports space researches in the Kingdom

Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has conducted a training workshop in Geographical Information Systems & remote sensory technologies addressed to the employees of the National Space Science Agency (NSSA). The workshop aimed at enhancing the collaborative efforts in exchanging experience in the field of remote sensory technology.


Acting Director of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) at iGA Shaikha Manar bint Abdulla AlKhalifa stated that the workshop is part of the authority objectives in creating a strong informatics infrastructure, that supports the space research in the Kingdom and qualify the national cader, in line with the Government Action Plan objective and inspirations of Vision 2030.


The workshop included a training on the Interpretation, processing and analysis of satellite images and satellite data for remote sensing science. It also included an implementation of GIS applications, remote sensing and data processing, spatial data analysis in GIS, as well as learning how to build spatial databases and review applied studies in cartography.


It’s worth noting that last March, iGA had signed an MOU with NSSA, to build an informatics infrastructure that supports space researches in the Kingdom; enhance the joint efforts that aim at benefiting from scientific experiences and human qualification aspects; along with utilization of modern technologies to serve this field.
