Al Qaed highlighted the importance of the ‘Fikra’ competition, which was launched following the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for encouraging innovation towards further developing government workstreams. He affirmed that the competition promotes a culture of creativity in the public sector, in line with the principles of sustainability, competitiveness and fairness, as outlined in Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
Al Qaed explained that the Tawasul app promotes transparency by streamlining direct communication between beneficiaries and government entities. The CE directed the iGA team to set an implementation plan for the idea to submit to the Minister of Interior, His Excellency Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and affirmed the authority’s commitment to implement initiatives that improve government services.
The suggested improvements to the Tawasul app include features such as notification alerts, appointment bookings, service evaluations and an option to thank the employee or entity that delivered the service. It also includes a suggested feature for directly contacting ministers or government representatives, an updated government directory, an improved mechanism to receive suggestions from people with special needs, and an instant chat service using Artificial Intelligence.
