The Technical Development Program

In line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Economic Recovery Plan and the Fiscal Balance Program of its Economic Vision 2030, and to support new graduates and job seekers in the Information Technology (IT) field, the “Technical Development Program” was launched, which is one of the strategic projects that aims to refine the skills of young Bahraini university graduates and job seekers with technical specializations from those between the ages of 21 to 30 years who are registered in the unemployment insurance system to be human capital and distinguished and experienced national cadres in line with the requirements of the labour market and make them the best choice in employment. The project is conducted by the Information & eGovernment Authority, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, aims to help achieve sustainability, fairness, and competitiveness in both the public and private sectors and to optimize government spending by reducing costs, terminating unnecessary external IT contracts, and creating job opportunities for qualified Bahrainis. It also seeks to help future generations become important architects of a digital society, who can compete at a global level and help the Kingdom achieve its digital vision. It aims to build competencies and technical and creative capabilities in high value sectors and provide an environment that encourages innovation and excellence. The program’s participants are given an opportunity to obtain intensive training in the iGA’s technical departments supported by a monthly salary, in addition to receiving internationally accredited professional certificates, raising their chances to be employed by either the public or private sector at the end of the program.

Eligibility Criteria for Candidates

  • Must be Bahraini
  • Between 21 and 30 years old
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Registered with the Ministry of Labour as a job seeker in the Unemployment Insurance System
