Following the decision made by the Government’s Executive Committee, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Prime Minister, entrusting the Royal Humanitarian Fund (RHF) to form a committee to oversee the distribution of funds, which have been raised through the successful “Feena Khair” campaign, and in line with the directives made by the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the RHF in cooperation with the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), have launched a new service allowing individuals who are part of the entitled categories to register for support via the National Portal bahrain.bh. in light of the adverse affect of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The RHF Secretary General and Head of the ‘Feena Khair’ Coordination Committee, Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed said: “The service implements directives by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to ease the financial burden faced by Bahraini families affected during these exceptional circumstances. It supports the efforts of the ‘Feena Khair’ campaign launched by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and a coordination committee formed by RFH to ensure the funds raised reach Bahraini families impacted by the pandemic. We launched the service in cooperation with the iGA to streamline the application process and will be working with relevant authorities to review submissions and distribute the funds in accordance with the systems, criteria and procedures in place.”

Dr. Al Sayed added: “A first of its kind in the Kingdom, this project supports Bahraini citizens affected by these extraordinary circumstances by allowing them to apply online to benefit from the funds raised through the Feena Khair campaign. It is a noble national initiative by the RHF, which aims to reach all those affected.”

Dr. Al Sayed further stated: “The service will benefit private bus drivers of school children, productive families whose businesses have come to a halt, workers in the hospitality sector, and many others. The eService will consider all applicants with proof of meeting key selection criteria.”

The iGA Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed said: “The service reflects the commitment of HRH the Crown Prince and His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian and Youth Affairs to provide financial and moral support to those affected and help them overcome the current circumstances. It is a humanitarian act greatly valued by our community.”

He added: “The iGA has ensured the deployment of various advanced technologies in helping to mitigate the spread of the virus, supporting national efforts led by HRH the Crown Prince. We have also helped the public maintain social distancing measures through the digital transformation of many government services. This new service is an important addition to the range of eServices available through the National Portal.”
