Bahrain non-oil Exports of National Origin reached BD322 Million in May 2025

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has released its May 2025 Foreign Trade report, which encompasses data on Trade Balance, Imports, national origin Exports and Re-exports.

As per the report, the value of non-oil imports increased by 7% reaching BD498 million in May 2025 in comparison with BD466 million for same month in 2024. The top 10 countries imports recorded 71% of the total value of imports.

According to the report, China ranked first for imports to Bahrain, with a total of BD75 million (15%), followed by The United Arab Emirate with BD48 million (10%) and Australia with 43 million (9%).

Parts for Aircraft Engins recorded as the top product imported to Bahrain with a total value of BD42 million (8.4%), followed by Other Aluminum Oxide with BD41 million (8.2%) and Four-wheel drive being the third with BD21 million (4%).

On the other hand, the total value of non-oil exports (National Origin) increased by 2% to reach BD322 million during May 2025, compared to BD316 million for same month in 2024. The top 10 countries in exports (National Origin) accounted for 71% of the exports (National Origin) value.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries for then non-oil exports (National Origin) with BD67 million (21%). The United States of America was second with BD33 million (10%) and the United Arab Emirate was third with BD27 million (8%).

Unwrought Aluminum Alloys recorded as the top products exported in May 2025 with BD94 million (29%), followed by Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates Alloyed with a value of BD42 million (13%) and Aluminum Wire not Alloyed with BD17 million (5%).

The total value of non-oil Re-exports increased by 18% to reach BD60 million during May 2025, compared to BD51 million for same month in 2024. The top 10 countries in Re-exports accounted for 85% of the re-exported value. The United Arab Emirate ranked first with BD24 million (40%) followed by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with BD16 million (27%) and Singapore with BD3 million (5%).

As per the report, Smartphones was the top product re-exported from Bahrain with a value of BD6.4 million (10.7%), followed by Four-wheel drive BD6.3 million (10.5%), and Private Cars came third with BD5 million (8%).

As for the Trade Balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, the deficit recorded BD116 million dinars in May 2025 compared to a deficit of BD99 million dinars in May 2024.
