Held via video conference, the meeting covered several major government initiatives, including the development of information systems and websites at the Ministry of Health for public hospitals and primary care centers. This project was highlighted for its important role in meeting urgent demands for digital transformation by automating procedures and improving digital offerings.
The committee discussed the excise tax system at the National Bureau for Revenue (NBR), which is in line with the Kingdom’s commitment to regional and international agreements related to combatting dangerous goods, including the Common Excise Tax Agreement of the States of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The committee also discussed Blackboard eLearning maintenance services and license support, an vital requirement in light of exceptional current circumstances which necessitate remote work and study.
The committee reviewed a draft of a guide for formulating IT contracts, which aims to protect the technical and administrative rights of government entities, enhance the quality and efficiency of services, reduce costs, avoid duplication, and minimize long term risks.
The meeting also covered developments related to an IT Strategic Planning program for government entities, as well as implemented decisions from previous meetings.
