iGA and Royal Academy of Police Collaborate on AI Training for Ministry of Interior Team Members

In line with directives by His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication (MCICT), the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) discussed collaboration with the Royal Academy of Police to advance artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities within the public security sector.
Led by iGA Chief Executive Mohammed Ali Al Qaed and Academy Commander Major General Fawaz Hassan Al Hassan, this collaboration aims to establish an integrated framework for the development of innovative solutions and the delivery of specialized training for Ministry of Interior members aimed at enhancing technical proficiency and operational effectiveness.
The discussions focused on the adoption of AI technologies, which are rapidly evolving across the world, and which have the potential to enhance performance and introduce even more innovation. Both parties explored the design of targeted training programs for Ministry of Interior team members across all levels and specialties, with the goal of strengthening their technical and practical AI capabilities. The aim is to ensure the effective and sustainable use of these advanced technologies.
Further discussions addressed the importance of strengthening bilateral coordination and promoting continuous learning by leveraging the iGA’s innovative solutions and success in digital transformation. These efforts aim to support the adoption of advanced digital tools that meet the evolving needs of security operations and contribute to building a leading national model in this vital domain.
The collaboration also envisions the use of the Royal Academy of Police facilities to host specialized workshops, training programs, and seminars. This would foster an interactive educational environment that facilitates knowledge transfer and enhances the preparedness of security personnel.
As part of this collaboration, a series of mutual visits will be organized to support experience and knowledge exchange. A tour of the iGA’s Innovation Hub was conducted in line with this initiative, during which iGA Director of Innovation and Advanced Technologies Ms. Latifa Al Abbasi presented key initiatives powered by AI. The session explored collaborative opportunities for hands-on training and the development of customized programs to further enhance the AI competencies of Ministry of Interior personnel.
