The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) participated in the 10th edition of the annual Information and Communications Technology (ICT) event, Meet ICT and the Bahrain International Technology Exhibition (BITEX), which were held side by side.

Organized under the theme “Leading the Way to a Digital Economy Through AI”, the event is in line with Bahrain’s Telecommunications, Information Technology and Digital Economy Strategy 2022-2026, which is a part of the Kingdom’s Economic Recovery Plan. Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) and Worksmart for Event Management organized the three-day event, held from 14th to 16th June 2022 at Gulf Hotel’s Gulf Convention Center.
The iGA showcased a number of digital projects that serve individuals, businesses, and governmental entities, including the revamped eMeeting system, one of the government’s prominent technology initiatives. Visitors were introduced to eMeeting’s advanced features, including how to easily send and receive meeting documents, instant messages, and annotations, and share them with other attendees, as well as the ability to access private files offline, and more. Focus was on eServices details provided to business owners via the National Portal, bahrain.bh and requirements.
The iGA was honored by the organizers as a government partner in the first day of the event. It participated in a panel discussion titled ‘Smart Ideas for the Digital Economy’, represented by Head of Change Management for eServices, Noof Ali Fakhro, who discussed ‘How Digital Transformation Contributes to the Success of the Digital Economy’ and the digital transformation of the public sector in the Kingdom.
Considered the largest of its kind in Bahrain, Meet ICT and BITEX 2022 was attended in-person after it was put on hiatus during the pandemic. It brings experts, academics, and professionals together to discuss the latest scientific research and solutions, trends, opportunities, and challenges.
Twenty-five speakers participated in the annual event, including specialists who shared their expertise through a series of workshops and sessions on the digital economy, blockchain technology, FinTech, cybersecurity, enhancing customer experience, and more.
