iGA Participates in the GCC Traffic Week

In line with GCC Traffic Week, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) participates during activities of the 34th GCC Traffic Week held by the General Directorate of Traffic (GDT) under the slogan ‘Your Life is a Trust’. During the event, GDT organizes Traffic Village held at Seef Mall - Manama from 15th till 31st March. The Authority has been present at the mall to showcase its provided eServices in cooperation with the GDT and register in the eKey.


The eTraffic mobile app is amongst the showcased services in the Traffic Village to introduce its new services and revamps on the various features. The service is delivered in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior (represented by the General Directorate of Traffic), National Oil & Gas Authority together with the United Insurance company.

Among the updated features include the King Fahad Causeway Insurance, Reserved Plate Numbers Renewal, Discount of Vehicle Registration Renewal Fees (an exclusive service for the elderly – 60 years old and above- Bahraini vehicle owners), SMS traffic notifications service that notifies users of any traffic contraventions, renewal of driving licenses or car registrations along with the Payment History that displays details of all transactions conducted by the user.

Mr. Mohamed Abdulaziz, Acting Director of eServices and Channels Enhancement at iGA praised GDT efforts and role in the eTransformation and development process as he stressed that GDT services are considered one of the most demanded by the public which usually attains the highest ranks in number and value of accomplished eTransactions. He added that the Authority continuous efforts in developing the services via numerous eChannels as well as providing more services in order to simplify the processes and reduce the physical visits to the Directorate.

Abdulaziz highlighted that a number of traffic services require the engagement of several entities, hence, the authority ensured to collect the services in one application to enable beneficiaries to accessibly and easily complete the services via a single platform. He also pointed that the app is considered one of the most suitable means of providing services that target a large diversified segment. It is convenient for users seeking driving licenses; employees of car sales and rentals; insurance companies or CR holders (under titles of drivers).

The mobile app includes a range of services like the comprehensive ‘Traffic Records’; ‘Quick Services’ which also include payment of traffic contraventions, renewal of vehicle and license registrations; along with fuel enquiry and locations of fuel stations.
