18 Aug 2025
The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) organized an Introductory session for 80 young Bahrainis newly accepted into the third batch of its Technical Development Program (TTDP). In attendance were iGA Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, senior officials, and program coordinators.
Al Qaed welcomed the participants, congratulating them on being selected from among 269 applicants to the program, which was launched by the iGA in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, and in line with directives by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Al Qaed also highlighted the support provided by His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information & Communication Technology (MCICT), which reinforced the program’s role in developing national talent and advancing Bahrain’s digital transformation.
Al Qaed described the program as one of the Kingdom’s most important strategic initiatives, which is designed to refine the skills of Bahraini youth in technical fields, and prepare them to be leaders in ICT excellence and innovation.
During the Introductory Session Al Qaed also encouraged the participants to make the most of the training they will receive from the iGA’s various technical departments, as well as their academic and professional certification programs. He urged them to seize every opportunity to enhance their knowledge and sharpen their technical capabilities. This will empower them to tackle emerging technologies and new challenges with confidence, while enhancing their future public and private sector prospects.
Al Qaed explained that more than 143 individuals graduated from the program’s first two batches. They contributed to more than 10 digital and technical projects at the iGA, most notably the My Gov app and eKey 2.0. The participants earned 295 internationally recognized professional certifications, and to date 94 of them went on to secure employment in the public and private sectors.
The Technical Development Program (TTDP) provides intensive on-the-job training for 240 Bahraini youths aged 21 to 30 with a bachelor’s degree and unemployment benefits registration status. The program lasts three years and includes comprehensive ICT training by the iGA. Successful completion grants participants globally recognized professional certificates from an internationally accredited institute.
