iGA Provides Zakat & Donations Payment Services via Islamiyat App

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) announced the bundle of services users may take advantage of during the Holy Month of Ramadan via the Islamiyat mobile app available through the eGovernment Apps Store at Bahrain.bh/apps. The Authority is keen on delivering new services on smart apps as part of its strategic direction towards eTransformation to smart devices; hence, the ‘Pay Zakat and Charity Donation’ eService is launched in its revamped version by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Awqaf to the public and entities. The eService enables users to directly pay the Zakat and donate to their desired charity projects as well as support the Zakat and Charity Funds.
The app also comprises the ‘Zakat Calculation’ service linked with gold’s current rate in the market to ease the process of calculating the zakat amount. Moreover, the ‘Ramadan Majalis Locator’ eService is also available to provide users with an inclusive directory of all the daily and weekly Majalis held all over the Kingdom. This directory includes all Majalis names, contact details, ability to locate the desired Majalis as well as search for the nearest Majlis.
The application also provides all-year-round services such as the ‘Hijri Calendar’, ‘Prayer Timings’ endorsed by the Ministry along with the prayers alarm feature, ‘Compass’ to locate the Qibla direction, ‘Mosques & Islamic Centers’ which assists when locating all the Mosques and Islamic Centers in Bahrain. In addition to, ‘Hajj and Umrah’ that consists of a directory of the Hajj and Umrah agencies including contact details and addresses of their offices.
On such occasion, the Authority announced its working hours during Ramadan as customers may visit any of the service centers located in Seef Mall Muharraq, Isa Town or Mina Salman branches during business days Sunday-Wednesday from 8AM-2:45PM and Thursdays till 2:30PM. The ‘Addresses Section’, situated in Isa Town, opens from Sunday-Wednesday from 8AM-2:45PM excluding Thursdays which opens up till 1:45PM.
