As per the report, the value of imports has decreased by 5%, reaching to BD1.402 billion during Q3 2023 in comparison with BD1.471 billion for the same quarter in 2022. The top 10 countries for imports marked with 69% of the total value of imports.
According to the report, China ranked first for imports to Bahrain, with a total of BD208 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates being the second with BD131 million, and Australia as a third with BD128 million.
Other Aluminum Oxide marked as the top product imported to Bahrain with a total value of BD121 million, while Non-Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates Alloyed was second with BD118 million, followed by Gold Ingots being the third with BD54 million.
On the other hand, the value of exports of products with national origin marked a decrease by 24% with a value of BD943 million during Q3 2023, compared to BD1.240 billion for the same quarter in 2022. The top 10 countries accounted for 70% of the total export value.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries Bahraini exports of national origin BD207 million from Bahrain. Meanwhile, The United Arab Emirates was second with BD122 million and the United States of America third with BD87 million.
Unwrought Aluminum Alloys marked as the top products exported during Q3 2023 with BD243 million, followed by Agglomerated Iron Ores and Concentrates Alloyed being the second with a value of BD167 million and Aluminum Wire not Alloyed third with BD55 million.
The total value of re-exports increased by 4% to reach BD184 million during Q3 2023, compared to BD177 million for the same quarter in 2022. The top 10 countries in re-exports accounted for 81% of the re-exported value. The United Arab Emirates ranked first with BD55 million, followed by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia second with BD35 million, and France third with BD11 million.
As per the report, Turbo-Jets was the top product re-exported from Bahrain with a value of BD21 million, followed by Four Wheel Drive BD12 million, and Other parts of airplanes, helicopters or unmanned aircraft came third with BD11 million.
As for the trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, the deficit amounted to BD275 million dinars in Q3 2023 compared to it in the same quarter of the previous year, recording a surplus of BD54 million dinars, which led to an increase in the deficit by 408%.
