In line with its vision to support local talent and foster a digital culture, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) welcomed a 35-member student delegation from the Nasser Vocational Training Center (NVTC) to its headquarters in Isa Town. The visit, among several ongoing collaborations with academic institutions and professional centers in the Kingdom, familiarized the students with the iGA’s operations, objectives, and role in Bahrain’s digital transformation, including its offerings to the public.

The students were given an overview of the iGA’s business lines, which consist of Digital Transformation, Operations and Governance, and Statistics and Population. The presentation also covered iGA eServices and government apps, accessible via digital platforms, and the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
The event also discussed infrastructure and the adoption of emerging technologies, highlighting the transition to cloud computing and its success in enhancing service efficiency and quality, optimizing the benefits to iGA projects. The discussion shed light on key projects utilizing advanced technology and artificial intelligence implementation that serve the public through data and information analysis. The meeting also covered iGA’s efforts to strengthen technical infrastructure through the introduction of advanced technologies, including facilitating government entities’ integration, allowing for real-time data and information sharing.
The students also learned about the strategic objectives and responsibilities associated with the newly introduced technologies at the iGA.

NVTC delegation expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to enhance their understanding of the iGA’s role in nurturing skills aligned with job market needs, and offered questions and suggestions. This visit was one of a series that NVTC will make to the iGA throughout the year.
