On this occasion, the Information & eGovernment (iGA) Chief Executive Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, praised the relations between the two countries, affirming that the announcement of granting Bermuda data sovereignty over its subscribers’ data stored in cloud computing centres hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain is in line with the provisions of Decree-Law No. (56) of 2018 regarding the cloud computing services to foreign parties.
He added that this initiative represents a strategic step to strengthen mutual cooperation and expand partnerships that serves the interests of people of the two countries, supporting the digital transformation journey in both countries, and enhances the exchange of knowledge and expertise in the fields of technological innovation and the development of digital solutions. He further noted that this agreement reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm commitment to strengthening long-term strategic partnerships based on supporting digital development and deepening technical integration with countries, thereby contributing to improving the quality of digital services and promoting sustainable growth.
He noted that this partn and an advanced platform for knowledge exchange and the implementation of a range of joint projects in the fields of digital transformation, cloud computing, and data management, thereby enhancing the quality of government services, improving beneficiaries’ experience, and supporting investment opportunities in the technology sector between the two countries.
