A Mr. Behzad has more than 12 years of experience in Governance and ICT, gained through key positions he has held over the course of his career. He has worked on a range of significant projects and initiatives, which have informed the experience and knowledge he possesses today. Mr. Behzad is currently Acting Director of Governance and Enterprise Architecture in addition to his role as Chief of ICT Procurements and Enterprise Agreements.
Beginning his career as a System Administrator in the private sector, he pursued an ambition to contribute to the vision of Bahrain’s eGovernment, joining the Information & eGovernment Authority as a Project Coordinator within the Project Management Office. Mr. Behzad was involved in key projects that defined eGovernment services as we know them today, such as the National Gateway Infrastructure and the National Payment Aggregator.
He was also a member of the ICT Cost Cutting Initiatives Execution Team, which was formed by the ICT Governance Committee. During this time, he gained a strong understanding of public sector operations and contributed to the realization of many investments in line with the needs of the Government of Bahrain.
Mr. Behzad holds a BSc in eCommerce Technologies and an MSc in Projects Planning and Management from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom. He also received several professional certifications in his field, including COBIT 5 Foundation and Six Sigma Green Belt. He was also presented with the “Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit”.
