
Mr. Senan Ali has a rich background in various sectors including tourism, consumer protection, and international trade relations, and has demonstrated a deep commitment to sustainable development, regulatory governance, and consumer Protection throughout his career.
With 20 years of professional experience, Mr. Senan has held several directorial positions within the Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority and the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, where his roles varied from Director of Licensing & Monitoring, Director of Tourism Facilities and Services, Director of Communication and Awareness, to Director of Consumer Protection, and Chief of GCC and Bilateral trade at the Foreign Trade Relations Directorate. These positions illustrate his ability to lead and innovate in diverse fields, from tourism development to consumer protection and international trade.
He has significant contributions to policy development and international cooperation, as evidenced by his involvement in representing Bahrain in regional and international committees on tourism development and consumer protection. He has played a crucial role in shaping trade competition regulations, commercial fraud, and consumer protection laws, not just nationally but at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and World Trade Organization (WTO) levels since 2005.
Educationally, he embarked on his journey with a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Operations Research from the University of Bahrain in 2004, highlighting his analytical mindset from the outset. His pursuit of knowledge continued with a Master’s in Business Administration with a minor in Business Technology Management from the Arabian Gulf University in 2009, blending his analytical skills with business acumen and technological insight. Currently, he is a Ph.D. researcher and student in the Environment and Sustainable Development program at the University of Bahrain since 2022, underscoring his dedication to sustainability.
As a dedicated lifelong learner and educator, he has acquired certifications and participated in various courses and workshops, notably in managing human-trafficking cases and as a certified trainer for human-trafficking training programs by the International Organization for Migration in 2023 and the National Crime Agency from the United Kingdom in 2024 and receiving the Prince Salman bin Hamad Award for Medical Merit in January 2022.
