In his speech, the iGA’s Chief Executive emphasized the commitment of the GCC states on the joint-statistical cooperation and strengthening the efforts in developing frameworks for coordination among national statistical agencies in GCC. He also highlighted the importance of such coordination in supporting decision-making process among GCC countries in various fields. He noted that this coordination requires further integrated efforts among GCC statistical agencies to enhance the statistical systems’ readiness, providing accurate data to the regional and international organizations, and adopting an integrated approach for data governance and management.
The meeting discussed several items on its agenda, along with the implications of the Iranian attacks on statistical work, as well as mechanisms to enhance statistical readiness across GCC countries and strengthen the exchange prioritized economic indicators.
